Following his training, Pierre de Bucy (born 1986) moved towards a career in lyrical singing and joined the professional training programme provided by the Maîtrise de Notre-Dame de Paris in 2010. There he trained under Yves Sotin, Paul Tripels, and Rosa Dominguez while taking part in masterclasses with Margreet Honig, Howard Crook, Regina Werner, Semyon Skigin, and Katrin Kapplusch. He also took part in the concert season of the Cathedral under the direction of Lionel Sow, Sylvain Dieudonné, Dominique Visse, Sofi Jeannin, Fabio Biondi, and Gustavo Dudamel, as well as working with prestigious instrumental ensembles such as Les Sacqueboutiers of Toulouse, the Paris Chamber Orchestra, the Radio France Choir and Philharmonic Orchestra, or the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra.
Pierre de Bucy has now developed his professional artistic career as a baritone. He has taken part in numerous opera choruses, and gives regular concerts as a soloist for cantatas and oratorios. He has worked with ensembles such as Aedes, Cythera, Les Métaboles, Arsys Bourgogne, La Main Harmonique, Les Cris de Paris, The Opera Chorus of Tours, the ZENE Ensemble, and the Marguerite Louise Ensemble. He has also performed at various different festivals including La Chaise-Dieu, Weeks of Music in Quimper, Molière Month in Versailles, the Musical Festivals of Normandy and Redon, the Bach Aix Academy Festival, the International Edinburgh Festival, the Sacred Music Festival of Saint-Malo, the Royaumont Festival, and the Musical Encounters of Calenzana and Vézelay. He has notably worked with musical directors such as Mihály Zeke, Mathieu Romano, Pierre Cao, Léo Warynski, Samuel Jean, Marc Minkowski, David Reiland, Jérémie Rhorer, and François-Xavier Roth, as well as under the stage direction of Laurent Pelly, Justine Heynemann, Julien Ostini, and Adriano Sinivia. As a passionate ambassador of contemporary music, Pierre de Bucy has had the opportunity to work on world premieres by artists such as Philippe Hersant, Pierre Chépélov, Bruno Ducol, Yann Robin and Diana Soh.
Following his theatre education during his vocal studies, Pierre de Bucy trained in the dramatic arts and the stage with singer, actor and director Yves Coudray, as well as taking part in various masterclasses and training programmes with the street theatre collective Bistaki, and as a clown with the actor Gilles Ostrowsky. He has taken on acting roles in works such as Et pourtant je valserai, an adaptation of the texte
J’ai saigné by Blaise Cendrars (Salle Jacques Brel, 2014), in an adaptation of Au bord by Claudine Galea (2015 TRANSPANTIN festival), as well as in the musical Pantin-Broadway: one-way ticket, directed by Yves Coudray (Salle Jacquel Brel, 2015). He performed in the show Domino with the Greek theatre company Vasistas at the Grande Halle de La Villette in March 2015, then in October 2015 at the Noirlac Abbey, and finally in March 2017 at the New Montreuil Theatre. He also joined the company La Lumineuse for their show L’homme-confiance, an adaptation of the eponymous novel by Herman Melville, performed at the Jonquière Theatre in Paris in May 2015.
