Biography

Pierre de Bucy holds a degree in Musicology from the regional conservatoire of Paris (majoring in musical analysis). During his studies he took classes in harmony with Isabelle Duha, musical history with Sabine Bérard, Corinne Schneider and Rudolph Weber and musical analysis with Naji Hakim, Anthony Girard and Alain Louvier. He gave a lecture on Les Nuits d’Été by Hector Berlioz at the University of Val de Gally in 2008, as well as taking part in an inter-university conference on Wagner’s Ring Cycle at the Bastille Amphitheatre in 2010. He also wrote concert programme notes for the Regional Conservatory of Paris from 2008 to 2010, then for the Sacred Music Programme at Notre-Dame de Paris from 2014 to 2015, and finally for the Les Arts’ Franchis Festival in 2015. From 2014 to 2015, he was also a radio commentator and cultural critic for the station Fréquence Paris Plurielle. He is regularly invited to present commentated concerts.
