A laureate of the Royaumont Fondation, Pierre de Bucy got his started in orchestral conducting with Stéphane Cardon and Adrian McDonnell, as well as learning choir conducting with Lionel Sow. He has taken  masterclasses with Dieter Kurz, Veronika Stoerzenbach, Léo Warynski, Mihály Zeke, Marc Korovitch, Nicole Corti and Raphael Immoos, through these opportunities conducting ensembles such as Les Métaboles, Spirito Choir and Orchestra, Croatian Radiotelevision Choir... He graduated with a double diploma in orchestral and choral conducting from the Strasbourg Conservatory, and a master's degree diploma in orchestral conducting of the Royal Conservatory of f Brussels (Prof. Robin Engelen's class). During orchestral conducting masterclasses, he studied with Anthony Hermus.

 

He was a choral teacher for the municipal conservatories of Paris, assistant conductor at the Paris Academy of Music, and assistant choir director at the Maîtrise Sainte-Philomène of Haguenau. In 2020, he was the assistant of Léo Warynski on the premiere of Love by Juta Pranulytė performed at the Royaumont Festival. In 2021 he was hired by the Royaumont Fondation to conduct a pedagogical project around Murray Shafer, in partnership with Les Métaboles. From 2020 to 2022, he was artistic and musical director of the Ensemble Vocal Philae in Strasbourg. During the 2021-22 season, he was the choir director at the Fabrique Opéra d'Alsace on the musical CABARET, directed by Philipe Arlaud and performed at the Strasbourg’s Zenith. In 2022 he was also temporary choir director of the St-Guillaume Choir in Strasbourg. In 2023 he was assistant conductor of Alessandro Poleggi at the Berlin Opera Academy on Cosi fan Tutte, then assitant conductor of Alexander Gordon on Dvorák's New World Symphony (Brussels Royal Conservatory). In 2024 we was assistant conductor of Lionel Sow at the Radio-France Choir on two productions : Kurt Weill's Berliner Requiem, and Mozart's Requiem. Starting from september 2024, he teaches choir and orchestral conducting at the Orléans' Conservatory.
